Crisis and Safe Beds

A 58-year-old man, referred to the Safe Bed Program by police, had been homeless for two years following a workplace brain injury. His denied WSIB claim led to financial hardship, divorce, and homelessness. During his stay, he received medical care, mental health support, and connected to Ontario Works, which qualified him for a rent supplement. He successfully moved into his own apartment. In May 2024, he thanked the staff, sharing that he remains housed and is rebuilding his relationship with his estranged children. ~ Staff
