Peer Support

YSSN’s Peer Support team understands your situation and can help you find hope, build trust and resilience, and embrace non-judgmental acceptance.

We can connect you to a peer who:

  • has faced mental health and/or addictions challenges
  • is a caregiver of an adult with a developmental disability
  • is a caregiver of a child with a developmental delay
  • is a caregiver of a person with a mental health condition and/or addiction

How we can help:

  • Emotional support
  • Caregiver resources
  • Information on mental health and addictions
  • Evidenced based skills for self-care, stress reduction and relationship building
  • Linking to other caregiver community services

Peer Support

When you’re at a point in your life where you’re feeling lost, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of having a peer support person to turn to. They listen and encourage you to be yourself. They offer a safety net and can help you find the tools you need to adapt to your current situation.
