Respite for Families

YSSN’s respite services helps adults and families caring for a loved one with developmental disabilities get support in their home or out in their community.

Respite care is a temporary relief from the active task of caring for a family member and allows time for the family to ease the physical and emotional demands involved in caring for a loved one.

How We Can Help

Meet with a Respite Access Facilitator
  • Meet with a Respite Access Facilitator to identify your respite needs, make a plan, and find the resources that are right for you.

  • Connect with DS Access at 905-953-8354 or email [email protected] to see if you are eligible.

Register with Respite Now and/or contact our Respite Access Facilitator
  • Register with Respite Now, a free app that connects people looking for respite with local workers who match their needs.

  • You can choose a worker based on their skills, experience, and availability, then pay them directly. It’s a chance for people to learn and socialize while giving caregivers a break. Services are flexible and inclusive.

  • Use it online at Respite-now.com or download the mobile app from the website.

  • For more information or support with Respite Now, contact Natalia Annenkova, Respite Access Facilitator at 905-898-6455 ext. 2265 or email [email protected]
