If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide,
call 9-8-8 for help. You are not alone.

YSSN is a proud partner in 9-8-8, Canada’s new helpline for anyone who is thinking about suicide or who is worried about someone they know.

Call 9-8-8 toll-free if you need to talk to someone, anytime, any day, across Canada.

9-8-8 responders in every province and territory are here to listen and provide help without judgement, in both English and French.

An average of 4,500 people across Canada die by suicide each year – approximately 12 people per day. Suicide affects people of all ages and backgrounds. Whoever you are, wherever you are located, whatever time or day it is, you can call 9-8-8 if you need to talk to someone.

While 9-8-8 is for anyone who is thinking about suicide, or who is worried about someone they know, no one who reaches out to 9-8-8 will be turned away. If you reach out, 9-8-8 responders will support you, whatever you are going through.

As a 9-8-8 partner, YSSN is part of a network of 40 local and national crisis lines across the country whose responders take 9-8-8 calls.
