YSSN is proud to be part of Ontario’s first phase of Foundational Family Services under the Ontario Autism Program, as announced by the Government of Ontario today!
Through these services, YSSN can offer a number of supports to eligible children and their families. These include:
- Family Peer Mentors – family caregivers who can share their experiences in a supportive and informative way, provide emotional and social one-on-one and group support, and help in navigating community caregiver programs and resources;
- Caregiver Workshops and Follow-up Coaching Sessions – including information, education, and coaching support for families who want to learn more about the resources and services available in our community, navigating the school system, funding options, tax credits, respite services, completion of applications, and recreational resources;
- Transition Supports, including preparing for personal and educational transitions, and on into adulthood.
- Brief Targeted Consultations that can help address a specific developmental or other need; and,
- Opportunities to participate in Family Resource and Clinic Days on a wide range of topics.
When you call our DS Children’s Access line at 905.898.6455 or 1.866.257.9776, extension 2574, you will speak with a member of our team who will gather some initial information from you so that we can get you pointed in the right direction.
We want to help you set a strong foundation for your child’s involvement with the Ontario Autism Program – and look forward to serving you!
