Welcome to the Up Hub blog!
You’ve found your way here – and we’re really glad you did – so you’re likely looking for social services or need support in York Region. You’re probably also wondering, “What’s up with Up Hub?”
Up Hub is a collection of peer-led tools and resources created to uplift York Region residents who are seeking services or need support to live a meaningful life. Created by peers, for peers, Up Hub recognizes that everyone’s journey towards wellness is unique and the tools you need to survive and thrive are unique to you, too.
There are three key elements that help make Up Hub an essential tool in your toolbox. Up Hub is designed to:
• Support you by connecting you to 400+ local services using a personalized online self-assessment tool (click here to access the Online Service Navigation Tool) and the York Region on a Limited Budget guidebook (click here to search the Services Directory)
• Connect you by offering an online platform for you to share your story using the Up Hub Story Pod (located at our Aurora office at 240 Edward Street, Unit 3) or by uploading a video from your mobile device (click here to upload your story)
• Give back by providing you with opportunities to become an Up Hub community contributor as a mentor (for more information on mentor opportunities, click here), peer navigator (for more information on becoming a peer navigator, click here) or volunteer (for more information about volunteering, click here)
Wherever you are on your personal journey, you can turn to Up Hub to help navigate the road map of your life and take control of making yourself feel better and move your life to the next level, whatever that next level looks like for you.
You can use Up Hub to:
• Stabilize and maintain your current situation
• Augment existing services or while on waitlists for services
• Work in partnership with other care providers and case managers
