As we enter the colder season, gather with family and friends for the holidays, and continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on our communities, getting vaccinated has never been more critical.
While the tremendous vaccination efforts undertaken across the province and in our region have had a positive impact on case counts, we are continuing to see severe impacts in the unvaccinated. As partners of the Western York Region Ontario Health Team, a network of health and social services partners aimed at delivering better connected care to the community, we know the services we provide are vital for the most vulnerable living in our communities, many of whom are at high risk of developing COVID-19. To ensure the safety, health, and well-being of those who rely on us for services and supports, vaccination remains our best defense against COVID-19.
It’s our collective responsibility to do our part by following public health measures and becoming vaccinated to keep ourselves, and our families and communities safe. Each partner of the Western York Region Ontario Health Team is working with their employees, physicians, contractors, volunteers, and learners, as applicable, towards full vaccination for all. We hope everyone in our community who is eligible will become vaccinated as well to help bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic.
